You’ll need confidence, capability, common sense and a cool head to handle the full range of management tasks. When you’re the most senior person around, the store team will look to you for direction and support - both in their everyday work and when the unexpected happens. So you’ll need to inspire their confidence, communicate brilliantly and be a great coach and motivator.
It’s a busy and fast-paced place to work so you’ll need lots of energy, to welcome and serve thousands of customers every week. Each day brings new challenges: keeping the store stocked and delivering great customer service, however busy it gets; understanding KPIs and targets and working to hit them; keeping up health and safety and legal standards; training and supporting the team’s development; opening and closing the store and being an on-call keyholder. You’ll be as happy taking charge as you are rolling your sleeves up and getting things done under pressure.
